M a t s u r i A k i n o
Matsuri Akino (秋乃 茉莉) is a mangaka (manga artist; the artist and author of the manga) who has created several series. The titles she has on her name are best-known for their interesting point of view, moralistic issues, almost fairy tale-like quality of stories and influences, and her artistic style, which borders on gothic realism. Her best-known work still remains Petshop of Horrors to this day. Personal-wise, not much seems to be known of this mangaka - not even a single picture can be found online. She describes in the end of her books how busy her life is, always pushing deadlines and slaving over the drawing table (XD; ).
Night Exile is a website created solely to bring more attention to Matsuri Akino's lovely works, and is currently scanlating many of her works (which haven't been licensed yet), including a few PSOH side-stories which have been left out of the Tokyopop translation. A must-see for everyone who is a fan of her work!
